Another Birthday Party

After Baby's J 1st birthday party back in Jan, now it's baby L's, Tobey's second birthday party. She's the lovely daughter of my ex-colleague. It was a garden party. The weather was fantabulous! Sunshine with the lightest wind. Everyone just sat on the grass and chatted whilst the babies and toddlers played with the toys available. Other than the occasional dash to safe a baby from eating make believe chocolates a.k.a. mud covered gravels, it was a relaxing affair.
...On the way to the party...he looked like he's going for a fishing trip again.

Was suprised that he knew how to move himself on this toy car...

He loved the swing!!!

Neighbourhood Walk

Promised the hubby that I'll bring Tobey out for a stroll around where we live whenever the weather permits...preferably everyday. This is so that the boy can get some fresh air and sunshine. Weather has been getting better nowadays (like today), makes these strolls more pleasant. We would usually go out after his afternoon nap and milk and would be out for about 45minutes to an hour. Good exercise for me too.

Here's Tobey posing for the camera during today's walk

Along the way, we saw a bunch of kids playing basketball, Tobey was watching intently...

Hopefully, when I do somehow pass my driving, I can bring my boy to different parks for our daily stroll.

Random Photos of Tobey's life lately

Playing with new toy daddy bought....toy laptop! Sharing with his friend Shean Wenn who's staying with us for the week.
Amidst a bed of daffodils with Dominic...

At the foot of the mini hill with daddy, Dominic and his parents...discussing hill conquering strategies...daddy getting over confident

Daddy pushing Tobey up the hill....go go daddy!

Tobey using the earflap of his winter hat as a blindfold when taking a nap in the car...

Tobey being a cool dude in whites and jeans....(this expression is EXACTLY the same one when he's 1 day old...all innocent looking)

...errr... a thumb sucking cool dude then..hehehe

10 months old

10 months ago, this little tyrant/angel came and brought a hurricane of changes to both our lives. Can't believe we managed so far. The vast amount of changes has made it felt like 20 months rather than 10. Having said that, the speed at which he is growing up makes us wish for the ability to freeze time.
His personality is starting to form and show alot lately. I would say that his good point would be that he is a very determine, focused and curious little boy. His "quest" to learn has brought alot of amusement to us most of the time. But at other times, we felt like pulling our hair out!!! For example, he likes to channel surf when we are watching tele. When we hide the remote, he would go for the actual buttons on our ancient tv...grrrr...most times he just switches the tele off when we pay too much attention to it.

So here's wht SK did

"you can't press what you can't see" were his words...and it worked! He stopped interrupting our devotion to the old box right after that.

He is also unfortunely tremendously bad tempered and impatient as well (like mummy). He would show his dissatisfaction when he's not given what he wanted...normally the camera, the laptop, the sharp scissors, the bottle of lotion...whatever that has danger written all over it. Like this morning, he was unsually grumpy and he wanted to rub his grubby hand all over my camera. When met with a NO, here's what I got..

Sigh! I guess we'll just have to give him lots of 'you-can't-always-get-what-you-want' kinda speech when he's older.

Enough of complaining. Today is one of those tiring days.

On a lighter note, I'll be able to bring Tobey out more often soon (if I pass my UK driving test, if not, I'll have to retake again and again and again until I do as it's absolutely essential as Tobey grows older. Think Mum n Tod groups, swimming, to the clinics, darn! I HAVE to pass this test *immense pressure*) as we've got ourselves a cool secondhand car for me to chauffer him around when SK is at work!!!

Here's my son taking the wheel frame as a steering, at the dealers. Pics of car will come soon :P

Walking unsupported

My boy took his first step 2 weeks ago (9 months 2 weeks old) right infront of both of us! Subsequently, he kept practicing and now he can walk about 8 steps before squatting down to rest. He looks like a cute little man walking really slowly without moving his head or neck. Occasionally when he hears music, he would pause and move his upper body left and right to the tune. This morning, I decided to hold one of his hand and let him walk with me to the kitchen. Both of us, hand-in-hand, going places, no need to carry. Brings tears of joy to my eyes. Suddenly I realised that my baby is growing up so fast, soon he'll be too embarassed and run the opposite direction when mummy wants to hold his hands, I miss him already. Don't want to miss a single moment of his life...so proud of him.
