Rubbery Rubbish

My son likes to pick the smallest little speck off the floor and hand it to me to throw it in the rubbish bin. Be it a small piece of paper or the smallest speck of dust only he can see (which I still take it from him in good faith and throw it in the bin before his eyes). A few weeks back, he handed me what looked like another rolled up grape skin. I took it from him and rolled it between my fingers abit, it felt abit plump and squishy, "Hmmmm..maybe there's some grapeflesh still attached to this.." but it's too rubbery...I looked down and it's a dead baby SLUG! HORROR OF HORRORS!!!!!

I screamed so loud (I know I shouldn't but it was instinctive), SK came rushing into the kitchen, I showed him and he asked Tobey where he found his little treasure...Tobey showed daddy to the area near the front door. It must have crawled in through the bottom of the door. SK then sprinkled some 'Slug killer Powder' along the front paving and true enough, the next day, we found many little dead baby slugs along it.

Random Springy pics

If u squint your eyes enough, you'll see SK n Tobey at the bench on the left, hanging out in the park amidst the blooms

close-up shot
mommy and Tobey getting ready to go out on a sunny Tuesday
This is what he loves doing around our neighbourhood. Picking up stones and throw them into the drain just to hear them go "plop"!
He also loves running this stretch of walkway...
.....and run up and down this wooden bridge.
My darling looks so much like a big boy here...

***************************************************************
On a less Springy note...these pics show Tobey trying to get to his new toy (a tractor I got him from the groceries supermarket) from a tied plastic bag. He tried using his fingers, when that failed, he took out his hammer, then the pliers, then the spanner....kekekeke

At Gulliver's

Here being Easter break long weekend and all, we occupied our time with many activities. Attended a housewarming party, went down to Bicester Village with friends, rested a day (SK worked, we rested) and today, we brought the boy to Gulliver's Theme Park. We decided an hour after waking up and just packed and go. Living impulsively :P

At first he was bewildered as all rides were unlimited, not coin operated (like the ones he is used to) and other kids gets to ride at the same time! He was quiet and excited at the same time :)

I'll let the pics do the talking

with mummy

car ride...one of his favourite!
one of the many toddler rides that basically comes in many forms and goes around the platform a few times...he went on the ship and teacup one too
Loved the background

on the Ferris wheels...
The Galloping horses carousel ride...he rode on it TWICE...we took turns to ride alongside him

A singing Orang Hutan (i think), complete with guitar strummingTobey was so mesmerised by it's singing, he sat through a few cycles...at each interval when the Orang Hutan stopped making music, he goes like the above pic...Another train ride..it was so busy, they had to share carriage with another family
Ice-cream break
On top of the fairy tale castle
Slides...if he had it his way, he'll be playing on it till the sun sets.....
"Are you having a tummy tuck?"
"Errm...I can see your real face, you know"

I remember last Easter break cleary, at that time he had just started to walk a few steps at a time...what a difference a year makes :)

22 Months Old

* When SK was lifting the heavy bed frame, he also helped by trying his best to lift it from the other end. He thinks he's a little superman, such innocence!

* He loves this milk roll call brioche. He can never say no to it (unless he's teething). When he's not hungry, he'll break it into bite sizes and uses the hammer to hammer them flat into the carpet. Nice.
Spot the padlock he's holding whilst posing for me? He's waiting to help lock-up the garden door when his dad gets back in.

* He loves a watch although he can't tell time yet. He used to wear SK's oversized watch for a long time, taking care not to let it slip off his wrist at any time. He looked as if he's carrying a hand bag on his wrist. We got him a kid watch recently. When we ask "What time is it Tobey?" He would look at his watch swiftly, just like how adults do it. Funny to watch, especially when baby fat still exist around his hands and wrist.

* Since two weeks ago, he's been teething really badly. So far two teeth broken through, making a total of 7. Two more are making their way out at this very moment. I can see the cuts on his gum already. He really needs a break after this, but I don't think that will be the case as we can see many more white bulges along his lower gum. When he's teething, he's clingy, looses his appetite, hot red cheeks, plus changes his sleep pattern. Oh well, we'll get through this together.

* Much to SK's delight, he can now understand the Wii. As he can relate how the handheld remote effects what's happening on screen.

Playing Wii Kart with daddy

* Favourite food : Broccoli, avocado, raisins, fried rice, cheese, biscuit, baked beans, orange, grapes, chocolates and orange/blackcurrent juice.

* Still enjoys playgroups and making new friends. Anyone around his height will automatically be in his social circle. He's not the kind of toddler that would linger around my legs out of shyness when brought to a new playgroup. He would charge into the scene and mingle without any hesitation! So not us! So far this Spring, he's been invited to one christening, one housewarming and one birthday. Of course, his parents are the ones buying the presents :P

we planted a runner bean seed and 2 sunflower seeds into pots at playgroup. Tobey was already expecting something to happen after the first watering

* He's into scissors nowadays. "Zizzosss" he goes on and on until I pass him a pair of nail scissors. He will contently cut a piece of paper to pieces for the next 20 minutes. Of course, that also means 20 minutes of high stress monitoring for me. A few days later, we got him some craft supplies which includes a pair of safety "Zizzosss". Of course he asked for the nail scissors 5 mins later.

No price for guessing who chose the googly eye stickers for his son

* Best friend: Daddy of course...This boy adores his daddy the most in the world. Both of them have so much in common, it's amazing. From their love of a certain type of music right up to the way they sweat like a pig (enough to wet a pillow case or two) when their fever breaks.

Spending time together

* Words wise: It's getting better..."totur" (turtle), "ftish" (fish),"ohm" (home...he recognises our street and says that everytime we are near home" and so on. Most overused word is "Stuck!"...This morning, I was looking for an envelope , he went "klavailope"...He sounded as if he was speaking Thai ;P

Happy 22nd months old my baby :)

Willow Blossom

A few weeks back, I dug a hole 2 spades deep, 1/2 a feet wide, put this baby tree in and crossed my fingers. I am supposed to dig it 1 feet wide but my arms grew tired, I killed to many worms and Tobey was busy putting back the soil I dug into the hole.
This morning, I woke up to this...OMG It's actually blossoming. I planted a tree. I am SO happy.
